Azure - Spending cost analysis integration (April 2025 - May 2025)

Integration of an external SharePoint folder into existing ETL processes in Azure Data Factory. This includes automatic retrieval of secrets and tokens from Azure Key Vault for secure connection to SharePoint, defining integration logic in Azure Databricks, and writing the data to external tables in Synapse, making it available in Power BI reports.

SQL Server - Logging stored procedures (February 2025 - March 2025)

To debug a sporadic issue of missing data in a streaming B2B application, the project focused on adding logging to nested stored procedures within an Azure Data Factory pipeline. This pipeline orchestrates several Databricks notebooks and uses SQL Server stored procedures for data ingestion. The only viable approach was to directly modify the procedures.

SAS Viya - Migration of reports and stored processes from SAS 9.4 (May 2024 - February 2025)

Migration of reports and stored processes from SAS 9.4 to SAS Viya. The main SAS technologies used are Visual Analytics, Studio, Job Execution and Environment Manager. Dev Tools also proved to be crucial for migrating stored processes to jobs correctly in occasional scenarios where the HTML form had to be manually reconstructed. The client is a company that manages public services in an Italian region.

Power BI - Reporting Automation (October 2023 - February 2024)

Automation of visuals and reports; converting Excel and Power Points visuals into Power BI reports. This involved also establishing a valid connection to data sources, defining valid custom measures definitions with considerable level of complexity and defining data models. The client was a multinational company working in the banking industry.

Databricks - Reconstruction of Scala based Jar package (June 2023 - September 2023)

The goal was to reconstruct a Jar package installed in a deprecated cluster in Azure Databricks. In practice the main responsibility was to rewrite decompiled Java classes into Scala classes within Databricks notebooks and test the results with jobs using the most recent cluster version. The classes were responsible for ETL processes. The client was one of the most luxurious clothing brands in Italy.

Databricks - ETL processes migration from SAS (January 2023 - June 2023)

Conversion of ETL processes from SAS to AWS Databricks; rewriting SAS programs into Databricks notebooks which included reconstructing the processing logic for tables involving hundreds of millions of rows. The client was one of the largest cosmetic companies in Italy.
